Blondies is owned by Dick and Thor Gunderson. It has been known as Blondies Sports Grill and Bar since 1990. Before that it was known as Mr. Steak. The original building was built in 1969. The street it was on was then called Osseo Road. A farm house was where the building now sits. It was a potato farm. Dick and Carol Gunderson operated it as a Mr. Steak until it was converted to Blondies. Thor was 3 years old when the Mr. Steak restaurant was opened. Carol passed away in 1993.
In 1996, the building was expanded, and in 2001 the outside bar was added. Blondies believes it is the longest operating retail business in Brooklyn Park that is owned by the original owners.
Cliff, the General Manager has been at Blondies since 1990, Jen an Assistant Managerhas been at Blondies since 2001 and Doug also an Assistant Manager has been at Blondies since 2004.
